So No New Content In This Release, Just Corrections. Everyone seems to be PO'd at Steam for various reasons (some of which I agree and others disagree). Includes : Half-Life, Opposing Force, And Blue Shift. Half-Life 2, HL2 Episode 1, And HL2 Episode 2.

But with Steam trying to be this end all authentication tool I see an irritating issue. So why is it that if I buy a retail version I get screwed and not only have to authenticate through Steam but I have to keep the first CD in the drive to authenticate through securerom methods? The fact one can buy Half-Life 2 online and burn a non-protected CD(s) using only steam for a verification/protection method is not too bad (I know there are issues but thats not this rant). The way this should work is that I install the game, authenticate through steam (again not this topic), pack the CD's up, and play Half-Life 2 or Couter Strike Source at my leasure without CD's.

I don't see the purpose of forcing me to keep the disc in the drive to play a game that may as well have been a box containing a piece of paper with a code on it. The code and the account you create is all that should be required to play a game on Steam not the CD. They might as well hand out discs for free and sell codes! The disc should NOT be needed other than to install the game why do I have to keep the darn thing in the drive! It makes no sense at all! I have a valid account and I should be able to play anywhere. I bought this right from Valve.īut I bought the retail version so I have to take the cd's along with me to verify I still have those precious discs.Īs far as protection methods are concerned, Securerom is a protection method, Steam is a more powerful one (again, not this rant) and as long as I am verified via Steam why must Securerom annoy me as well? Half life no cd crack for free# I am so frustrated I don't even like to load the game up. in scintillation imaging due to the convenient combination of the 13.3 - hr half - life and the 159 - keV gamma radiation. I only have a single DVD Drive in my system, I can't leave the disc in the drive all the time since I use it constantly.īy the way I have lurked in these forums for years now and I actually registered to rant about this to someone.
